• Wire Fraud, Money Laundering Charges Filed Against Marin County Executives, U.S. Attorney's Office Says (patch.com) — Residents in Novato are learning that two executives tied to Novato-based Pacific Private Money, including a COO from Novato, face federal wire fraud conspiracy charges after allegedly hiding major financial losses. Prosecutors and the SEC say they raised tens of millions from mostly retired investors, then shifted funds between investments and used new money to pay earlier investors, with hearings set later this month.
