Pedestrian Killed In Novato Was 70-Year-Old Woman
The area resident was crossing a street when fatally struck by a vehicle Friday evening, officials said.

NOVATO, CA – A woman struck by a vehicle and killed Friday evening while crossing a street in Novato was identified as Bev Hobie, a 70-year-old resident from Novato, according to authorities.
Hobie at 6:07 p.m. was reportedly not in a marked crosswalk when attempting to cross South Novato Boulevard and was hit by a car, the Marin County Sheriff's Office said.
Responding paramedics found the woman suffering from "multiple traumatic injuries" and unresponsive beneath the vehicle, deputies said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A forensic post mortem examination and toxicology testing are scheduled for later this week, officials said.
