24 Calif. Companies Named Among Nation's Top Workplaces: LinkedIn List

If you're in the market for a new job in California, here's a great place to start. LinkedIn has released a list of the top 50 businesses to work for across the nation, and nearly half of them happen to be located right here in the Golden State.

To complete its Top Companies list for 2017, the social network says it analyzed "billions of actions" by more than 500 million members. It looked at three main things: interest in a company's jobs, interest in a company's brand and employees, and employee retention.

"From Amazon to Allergan and Salesforce to Starbucks, this year's LinkedIn Top Companies represent brands we know and love — as well as the firms that protect our devices and design our hip implants," LinkedIn says. "These 50 companies span 21 industries and employ some 3.3 million workers across the U.S. They are where professionals want to work now."

Here are the 24 California-based companies that landed on the list, with their national rank in parenthesis:
