Stabbing Suspect Found Hiding In Crawl Space In Novato
Marin County sheriff's deputies arrested a man suspected of stabbing someone over the weekend after he was found hiding in a crawl space.
MARIN COUNTY, CA – Marin County sheriff's deputies arrested a man suspected of stabbing someone over the weekend after he was found hiding in a crawl space.
In the early morning hours on Saturday, sheriff's officials received a report of a stabbing in the southern part of the county. Deputies arrived at the scene and found a victim who had been stabbed in the upper chest and needed medical attention, sheriff's officials said.
The suspect had fled the scene and could not immediately be found. However, sheriff's officials said they were able to identify him as a man who had recently been released from prison.

Later that evening, sheriff's officials received information that the suspect was at his job in Novato. They contacted Novato police for assistance, then went to the suspect's job to arrest him.
At the scene, authorities spotted the suspect outside and watched him enter the building where he worked. They followed him inside, but could not immediately find him. After about 30 minutes of searching for the suspect, authorities found him in a crawl space as he attempted to avoid them, sheriff's officials said.

The man was arrested and booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, sheriff's officials said.
No other information, including the suspect's name or booking photo, was immediately released.
