Venture to the Marin French Cheese Factory

Relax and enjoy a cheese tour, a picnic, a good book by the pond or a fishing session.

Sometimes you live in Novato for so long, you forget you don't have to venture far to have fun.

Here's an idea: Drive or bike out to the Marin French Cheese Company. It's seven miles west of San Marin High; just head out on Novato Boulevard past Stafford Lake and hang a left at the dead end. It's only half a mile further on Red Hill Road.

If it is a calm day, marvel at the reflection of the buildings in the small pond as you approach the factory. There might be a couple of people fishing, too.

Enjoy a picnic, bring a fishing pole or just relax and read by the pond. Take a tour of the factory and sample the cheese. They focus on the soft stuff, and it's delicious. The company was founded in 1865, so they know what they're doing.
