Who doesn’t love a winter tale?
I recently came across this one. Set in Canada, it is a story that can take place anywhere. I hope you enjoy it.

A trapper who lived in the wilds of Canada knew his way around the frozen tundra. On his sleigh, dressed in layers of animal skins, he would travel from town to town to sell the extra skins he carried.
Most people put up with him because of his furs and the money he spent in their taverns. But they didn’t like him because he was cruel and rude, He picked fights with the men and disrespectful to the women.

After his death which was rumored to be at the hand of a jealous husband, people reported seeing him driving his white husky-drawn sleigh across the land. Some say that was because he was not allowed into heaven. He had been confined to spend eternity on the tundra helping those who were lost.
The last time he was seen, he was carrying underneath the skins on his sleigh an almost-frozen traveler who had lost his way in a blizzard. Once he had placed the man on a chair in the tavern he disappeared.
Some people say that only those who are lost can spot the silhouette of him and his sleigh in the distance.
Let me know if you ever spot him!
