Here are the top four stories in Oceanside-Camp Pendleton today:

  1. After years of painstaking renovations, the wait is over and The Brick Hotel is officially open in Downtown Oceanside. The transformation of the old Schuyler building into The Brick Hotel by fourth-generation locals has captured the public's interest throughout the five-year project. Oceansider's have watched in fascination as the historical building that dates back to 1888 was taken down brick by brick, retrofitted, modernized and rebuilt to become a charming boutique hotel. Take a sneak peek at this Oceanside gem. (Oceanside-Camp Pendleton Patch)
  2. Took a break from the news this weekend? Not to worry, we've rounded up some of the stories you missed in SoCal on Saturday and Sunday. From a man who danced on a patrol SUV in the nude in Hollywood, to a Hall of Fame pitcher getting a statue at Dodgers Stadium, to a third probable case of Monkeypox identified in San Diego, pending CDC confirmation, catch up on the local news. Patch)
  3. A 60-year-old man was stabbed multiple times Sunday in a Kearny Mesa parking lot and died at a hospital, police said. Police responded at 12:22 a.m. Sunday to a call about a stabbing in the 4400 block of Convoy Street, said Lt. Steve Shebloski of the San Diego Police Department. They found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper body. The suspect was described as a man, possibly in his 30s. (City News Service)
  4. Oceanside celebrated the new library bookstore at grand opening ceremonies for Jane and Evie's Used Books on Coast Highway in downtown Oceanside. Chris Wilson, president of Friends of the Library, called the new storefront location "something outside the library walls to connect to the community." The bookstore's new hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. (The San Diego Union-Tribune)
