OCEANSIDE, CA — The Friends of the Oceanside Public Library announced the March 7 opening of Jane and Evie’s Used Books, a storefront destination selling gently used books, DVDs, CDs and puzzles.

The store’s initial operating hours are 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday-Saturday, at 323 N. Coast Highway, across the street from the Civic Center Library.

Chris Wilson, Friends of the Oceanside Public Library President, said, “The Friends were advised of an amazing Coast Highway storefront option that would accomplish two goals: to honor longtime Friends Jane Cheadle and Evie Magaña, and offer the community another opportunity to support the Library.”

“The store’s name is intended both to honor Jane’s memory, and recognize Jane and Evie’s contributions as Friends to the Library and the community. We believe the store is a perfect fit for Oceanside’s diverse California Cultural District, and that shoppers will have a fun and Friend-ly experience while supporting the Library’s programs, events for all ages, and purchase of books and other items.”

The mission of the Friends of the Oceanside Public Library is to support and promote the services and resources of the Oceanside Public Library through community involvement, volunteer activities, and fundraising.
