Oceanside Boat Catches Fire And Sinks Off Coast Near Carlsbad
Relentless, a 50-foot fishing boat from Oceanside caught fire and sank from significant damage on Thursday off the coast of Carlsbad.

OCEANSIDE, CA — An Oceanside fishing boat caught fire Thursday morning off the coast of Carlsbad.
At 5:44 p.m. the Coast Guard confirmed via Twitter that along with partner agencies, they responded to a fire aboard the Relentless, a 50-foot boat, located approximately seven miles off the Carlsbad coast. USCG cutters extinguished the fire and the vessel sank from significant damage.
The fire was reported shortly before 9:45 a.m. about three miles off the coast of Carlsbad, Coast Guard spokesman Adam Stanton said.

The boat had left from Oceanside, but it was not immediately clear when it caught fire or how the fire started, Stanton said.
