Oceanside To Host Free Halloween Trunk-Or-Treat (patch.com) — Families in Oceanside can enjoy a free Halloween Trunk or Treat at Mance Buchanon Park on October 17, featuring decorated car trunks, inflatables, temporary tattoos, and food vendors. Residents are invited to wear costumes and can also register as trunk hosts to decorate vehicles and hand out candy, with registration open until October 12.

Nicholas Wadsworth Hit and Killed While Crossing Highway in Oceanside (pacificattorneygroup.com) — A 34-year-old skateboarder from Oceanside was struck and killed while crossing westbound State Route 78 near College Boulevard on Saturday afternoon, with the California Highway Patrol still investigating the crash. Emergency crews pronounced Nicholas Paul Wadsworth dead at the scene from multiple blunt force injuries, and authorities have not yet released details about the pickup driver or what led up to the collision.
