Pedestrian Struck By Train And Killed At Oceanside Blvd Crossing

San Diego County Sheriff's Dept confirms a BNSF train hit a pedestrian where the train tracks cross Oceanside Blvd late Saturday night.

OCEANSIDE, CA — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a freight train late Saturday night at the Oceanside blvd crossing near S. Myers street. No other details about the victim have been released.

According to a press release from San Diego County Sheriff's Department, on 07/17/2021, at approximately 2159 hours, a BNSF train was traveling southbound near the location where the train tracks cross Oceanside Boulevard in the city of Oceanside, county of San Diego.

As the train crossed the intersection with Oceanside Boulevard, the train struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian involved in the collision was deceased upon the arrival of law enforcement. Deputies are investigating the incident and manner of death will be determined by the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
