SAN LUIS REY RIVER BIRD WALK with Buena Vista Audubon Society

Bird Watching Event

Join the Buena Vista Audubon Society for a Mother’s Day bird walk Sunday, May 10, at 8 AM, along the San Luis Rey River walk/bike trail. We will explore part of the south side of the river, where the elevated trail affords good views into the willow-dominated riparian vegetation, where migratory and resident songbirds should be active. Possible species include: blue grosbeak, black-headed grosbeak, least Bell’s vireo, flycatchers, and assorted warblers. The walk is free.
Directions: From I-5, take I-76 east to Fousatt Rd.; turn left on Fousatt Rd. Go about a block and park along the road near the skate park. Look for birders on the bike path along the river.
For more information, please call: Steve Brad, 760-633-1639; Day-of-walk, 760-274-5256.
