'Top Gun' House Still Standing
The iconic house, saved by the city of Oceanside, is slated to be moved a short distance and restored as part of a developer project, according to news reports.
The hearts of "Top Gun" aficiandos probably skip a beat when they come across this blue cottage at 102 Pacific St. in Oceanside, just as Tom Cruise's character, Maverick's did when he went to visit on-screen flair, Charlie (Kelly McGillis).
The iconic—and historic—house, saved by the city of Oceanside, is slated to be moved a short distance and restored as part of a large-scale developer project, according to news reports in recent years.
Before it became famous for the role it played as McGillis' beachfront pad in the 1986 blockbuster movie, the cottage has stood since the late 1800s.
