13-Year-Old Killed In Orange County Shooting; Teen Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder

The 13-year-old boy was shot Wednesday afternoon and later died in the hospital, police said.

ANAHEIM, CA — A 13-year-old boy died and a man and a teenager were arrested after a possible gang-related shooting occurred Wednesday afternoon in Anaheim.

The shooting was reported around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 2800 block of West Ball Road, where police found the teenage victim with at least one gunshot wound.

The teen was taken to the hospital, where he later died, Anaheim police said in a statement Friday. He was not identified due to his age.

Officers searched the area and arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of murder and 20-year-old Bryan Gonzalez of Anaheim on suspicion of being an accessory to the killing, police said.

According to the Anaheim Police Department, the shooting is thought to be gang-related, though no further details were given due to the pending investigation.

The teen suspect was detained at Orange County Juvenile Hall. He was not identified due to his age. Gonzalez was booked and detained at the Anaheim Police Department, police said.
