(Orange County Patch).

  5. Curious about our feathered friend featured in today's main photo? San Juan Capistrano resident photographer Kristine Erickson snapped this shot of a mourning dove in the middle of a mid-morning puff Monday, and we at Patch think this little guy is doing a great job ruffling his own feathers. (San Juan Capistrano Patch).
  6. Did you see the smoke? A 15-acre brush fire broke out near an Avalon campground on Catalina Thursday afternoon, and Los Angeles County Fire Department crews were on the scene near the Black Jack Campground in Avalon.
