Nearly 4,000 Confirmed Cases Of Coronavirus In Orange County

As Orange County opens up businesses, increases testing, an additional 229 people were confirmed to have coronavirus. 80, total, have died.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — On Thursday, an additional 229 new coronavirus cases were reported across Orange County, the Orange County Health Care Agency says. A total of 3,968 residents are confirmed positive out of a total 61,619 residents that have been tested. No deaths were reported, Thursday.

As Orange County has reopened beaches for activity and plans to reopen county parks and athletic fields on Saturday, all eyes remain on the daily coronavirus totals.

On Thursday, with 21 out of 25 hospitals reporting totals, the number of patients hospitalized with the virus fell to 227, while the number of patients in intensive care dropped to 79, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.

Of those who died of the virus, Wednesday, one was between 55 and 64 years of age, and two were 55 and older. To date, 47 men and 33 women have perished due to the virus.
