OC Judge Who Shot Wife Free Again On $2M Bail, Prosecutors Say

An Orange County Superior Court Judge charged with shooting and killing his wife was free on bond Wednesday after posting a $2 million bail.

ANAHEIM, CA — An Orange County Superior Court judge charged with killing his wife was free on bond Wednesday after serving the past month behind bars for violating the terms of his earlier release, The Orange County Register reported.

Jeffrey Malcolm Ferguson had been free on $1 million bond, but during a hearing on Sept. 24, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Eleanor J. Hunter raised the judge's bond to $2 million after prosecutors claimed Ferguson had consumed alcohol that triggered his ankle monitor in violation of the terms of his release.

According to the newspaper, Ferguson was released again on bond last Friday and is due back in court this week for a pretrial hearing.
