2,252 Total OC Residents Test Positive For Coronavirus, 44 Deaths
A total of 2,252 Orange County residents tested positive for coronavirus, 44 of whom have died as a result of the pandemic.
ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Two more people have died in Orange County bringing the area's coronavirus death toll to 44 people, the Orange County Health Care Agency reported Wednesday. On Wednesday, coronavirus cases jumped by 108, with a total of 2,252 residents of Orange County who have tested positive for the virus.
The number of hospitalized patients dropped to 175 on Tuesday, with the number of intensive care patients falling to 70, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency. As of this report, 22 Orange County hospitals reported data for this report.
Of those infected with the virus, men outweigh women with 53 percent infected with the virus. Thus far, 27 men and 17 women have died as a result of the COVID-19 disease.

Of the county's total cases:
- 43 involve people under 18 years old
- 191 are between 18-24
- 375 are between 25-34
- 337 are between 35-44
- 429 are between 45-54
- 390 are between 55-64
- 246 are between 65-74
- 150 are between 75- 84
- 91 are 85 and older

- 2 people were 25 to 34 years old
- 3 people were 35 to 44
- 5 people were 45-54
- 7 people were 55-64
- 5 people were 65-74
- 15 people were 75-84

To date, 29,940 residents of Orange County have been tested for coronavirus.
The four biggest cities in Orange County account for the largest number of positive cases, according to Orange County Health Care Agency's most recent report.
Santa Ana has the most cases with 330, followed by Anaheim at 316, Huntington Beach at 214, and Irvine at 126.

Orange County's Board of Supervisors agreed on a reopening roadmap, late Tuesday. Officials say that they are operating under the state of California's safer at home orders, and the county is not yet reopening nonessential businesses.
Orange County residents are seeking to help one another during the time with so many out of work. A pop up food pantry was planned for early May in Mission Viejo.
Despite restrictions designed to slow the spread of the virus, crowds flocked to Orange County beaches over the weekend as temperatures rose to summer-like levels, which drew criticism from Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday.
