Shots Fired At Police Near 55 Freeway; Suspect At Large
The shooting was reported just before 7:15 p.m. in Orange near the Costa Mesa Freeway.
ORANGE, CA — A suspect opened fire on police officers patrolling in Orange Thursday evening.
The officers were on patrol near Park Lane and Meats Avenue, near the California State route 55 Freeway, when the suspect started firing rounds at them around 7:15 p.m., Lt. Phil McMullin of the Orange Police Department.
No officers were injured, though police were actively searching for the suspect in the area, McMullin said.

A suspicious person was found in a backyard but it's unclear if it's the suspected gunman, McMullin said.
