Working flexible daytime hours, she'll be a regular presence at campuses, community events, and Miramonte games, aiming to strengthen relationships between residents and the Orinda Police Department.
   

• OIS student Aiden Meng recognized for spelling bee performance (lamorindaweekly.com) — Orinda is celebrating seventh-grader Aiden Meng of Orinda Intermediate School, who tied for sixth place at the Scripps National Spelling Bee. The case is raising questions about pretrial release decisions and public safety, while federal authorities have also placed an immigration detainer on the suspect.
