Update: Body Spotted Floating Near Rockaway Beach
The Coast Guard sent a helicopter and a response boat.

Update:
Emergency personnel are continuing to search for a person who was last seen face down in the water near a Pacifica beach today, according to the Coast Guard.
The San Mateo Fire Department responded to a report of a possible surfer in distress at 4:48 p.m. at Rockaway Beach, according to a dispatcher. Coast Guard officials said they launched a helicopter and a motor lifeboat crew at 4:56 p.m.

Shortly before the Coast Guard rescue teams arrived, Pacifica fire and Daly City police lost sight of the person, who was last seen face down in the water wearing a black wet suit, according to the Coast Guard.
Coast Guard officials said the identity of the missing person is unknown at this time and asked anyone who may know the person’s identity to call 911 or the Coast Guard Sector San Francisco Command Center (415) 399-3451.

The Coast Guard and the San Mateo Fire Department are responding to a report of a possible distressed surfer or body floating in the water near Rockaway Beach in Pacifica this evening.
Fire crews responded to a report of a possible surfer in distress at 4:48 p.m., a dispatcher said.
Coast Guard Lt. Jacob Aulner said the Coast Guard sent a helicopter and a response boat from Station Golden Gate.
Aulner said new information revealed it may not be a surfer, but a body that is floating in the water and said the Fire Department is working to recover it.
There is no other information at this time.
