Sept 21 Deadline for the 2026 Pacific Coast Fog Fest Photo Contest

As September approaches, it’s time to start looking through your photographs and get ready to enter the 2026 Fog Fest Photo Contest! Entries — printed and framed — are being accepted Fri, Sept 18 – Mon Sept 21, 1 - 5 pm, at Sanchez Art Center, 1220 Linda Mar Blvd., Pacifica.Entry forms with complete information are available at Sanchez Art Center (galleries are open Fri – Sat – Sun, 1-5 pm), or you can download from www.SanchezArtCenter.org/CallforEntries.htm.

The contest is coordinated by Sanchez Art Center in partnership with the Pacific Coast Fog Fest. Photos will be exhibited at the Pacific Coast Fog Fest Art Corner, Sat–Sun, Sept 26–27. Cash awards will be presented to first-place ($100), second-place ($50), and third-place ($25) winners in each of three divisions on Sunday at the Fog Fest, and an award certificate will be presented for Judges’ Best of Show. Award winners for Divisions 1 – 3 will also be invited to participate in a group show to take place at Sanchez Art Center in 2027.

Each photographer may enter up to two (2) photos in Divisions 1 – 3 for a single entry fee of $10. All photos must be framed and wired to hang, and total size, including frame, may not exceed 12” x 14”.Three divisions offer an opportunity to select the area or areas that best suit your photographic interest and style. The three divisions are:

  • Division 1Coastal Views (any coastal location, landscapes, seascapes, coastal wildlife;NO pier photographs)
  • Division 2Portraits (photograph of a person/people where face and expression are the primary focus; selfies okay)
  • Division 3Black & White or Monochromatic(any subject/no restrictions)

AND, a special People’s Choice Division this year will welcome entries — 1 per photographer — of the iconic Pacific Pier, taken any time prior to June 2026, when it’s condition changed forever.Visitors to the Art Corner (corner of Palmetto and Santa Rosa) will be able to vote for their favorite Pacifica Pier photograph (one vote per person).1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards will be given out based on the voting.Entries to the People’s Choice Division are $5.00 for the single entry.(Photographers can enter up to 2 entries for Divisions 1 – 3 AND a single entry for the People’s Choice Division.)

Acclaimed Pacifica photographers Edwin Hacking, Alan Grinberg and Sharron L Walker will serve as this year’s judges. Each has spent decades traveling our Bay Area environs and around the world in search of the perfect shot.

There is no residency, geographic content, or age restrictions. So fill out an application and bring your work to Sanchez Art Center, 1220 Linda Mar Blvd, Fri - Mon, 1–5 pm, beginning Fri, Sept 18 through Sept 21.The entry deadline, no exceptions, is Monday, Sept 21 at 5 pm.
