Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Weigh-Off, "Rise of the GIANTS" Movie Screening & BBQ Night

Organizers of Half Moon Bay’s Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off announced they will be presenting a special screening of filmmaker Daria Matza’s “Rise of the Giants,” a feature length documentary about giant pumpkin growers coming out this fall, on Sunday, October 12 from 5pm to 9pm at Cameron’s Inn Outback in Half Moon Bay.

This special evening in the magical World Pumpkin Capital of Half Moon Bay kicks off at 5 pm with a hearty barbecue buffet and a meet and greet with legendary growers in town to compete in Half Moon Bay’s Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off (which takes place on Monday, October 13).

The movie screening (on a giant 9’ x 16’ screen) will start at 7 pm. The film is 75 minutes in length.

Tickets at the door are $35 ($15 for kids age 12 and under).

This is an outdoor event so those attending should plan to layer and dress appropriately.
