Man Thrown 30 Feet As Mercedes Rolls In Peninsula DUI Crash: CHP
The California Highway Patrol says "it appears that drugs and alcohol may have been a factor" in the deadly wreck.

PESCADERO, CA β A Peninsula man was found dead after he apparently crashed his car sometime overnight on a winding coastside road, the California Highway Patrol reported Tuesday. The man, who has not yet been publicly identified, was thrown an estimated 30 feet from his vehicle as it overturned.
CHP Officer Art Montiel says the crash was reported at 6:31 a.m., however it's not clear at what time it actually occurred. The collision site is located off Pescadero Creek Road, just east of Stage Road.
"It appears the driver was traveling eastbound on Pescadero Creek Road at a high rate of speed sometime during the night," Montiel said in a news release. "The driver failed to negotiate a curve of the road allowing the Mercedes to veer off the roadway where it collided with a dirt embankment."

After crashing into the embankment, the car rolled and landed on its roof, Montiel said.
"The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was fully ejected and came to rest approximately 30 feet from the Mercedes," the officer said.
