Bay Area Baseball 5k Run/Walk
and Kids’ Run

Pacifica Runners is presenting another incredible
opportunity for Pacifica to get active! The Bay Area Baseball 5k will take
place on Sunday, May 18. 
Registration opens at 8am. 
The run/walk will start at 9am. 
Participants and spectators are encouraged to deck themselves out in
baseball gear.  We expect to see
hordes of orange and black and green and yellow.   Participants will be cheering each other along as they
go and chants of “Let’s go Giants” and “Let’s go A’s” are encouraged. 

The run will start at the Linda Mar Beach bathrooms.  There is a paid parking lot available and
carpooling is recommended.  From
the start, the walkers/runners will head north on the Linda Mar paved path up
the hill, down the switchbacks, beside Nicks Restaurant and in front of
Moonraker onto the Quarry trail where they will eventually turn around and head
back to the start after a glorious 3.1 miles.   There they will
be greeted with water and snacks. 

Upon completion, all kids will receive a goodie bag and toe
token through which they can remember their achievement. 

Awards and Raffles

At 10:00am, awards will be given out to the top 3 male
runners, female runners, boy runners, and girl runners.    At that point the raffles
will be drawn.  Pacifica Runners
will have raffle prizes (all paid entrants will be entered) for tickets to an
SF Giants game, tickets to an Oakland A’s game, a Pacifica American Little
League 2015 registration, an Easton boy’s bat, an Easton girl’s bat, DVD’s
including The SF Giants 2012 season, Moneyball and Everyone’s Hero, Big League
Chew gum packs and packs of baseball cards. 

Family Fun

The kids’ run/relay (Approximately 0.2 miles) will start at
10:15am.  This is free to all
participants.   
Finishers will receive a medal. 

This is a beautiful course to run, walk, run/walk, or take a
jogging stroller along and is open to all ages.  Pre-registration can be done online at http://pacificarunners.webs.com/bball-5k.  The cost is $8 for adults, $5 for paid
Pacifica Runners members, or non-member kids, $3 for paid Pacifica Runners
kids.  Children 4 and under are
free and participants of the kids’ run are free.  The cost of registration increases by $1 on race day.
