Pacifica Business Collecting Leftover Halloween Candy to Send to Troops

Last year, the woman behind the efforts helped collect more than 280 pounds of candy in Pacifica.

Pacifica resident Jennifer Norman wants to spread the word that she’s collecting candy to send to troops stationed abroad, through a program called Operation Gratitude.

Here’s a message from Norman to Pacifica Patch readers:

Here’s something great to do with all of the candy left in your home after trick-or-treating fun! I suggest you donate it to Operation Gratitude who will put it in care packages for our troops abroad. Not only do our troops enjoy having some treats from home but they also pass it out to local children, spreading some goodwill. http://www.operationgratitude.com/

I have been donating candy to this organization for 7 years and it’s become a tradition for many other local families. The first year, I sent in 25 lbs and it has grown every year since. Last year, 280+ lbs of candy was collected in Pacifica!

Pacific Coast Dental will be sponsoring this year’s candycollection for the 3rd year in a row! So if you are interested, here is where you can drop off your candy:
