Terra Nova Names Principal, Asst. Principal

After a long, closed-session Jefferson Union High School District Board meeting, members accepted recommendations from newly-elected superintendent Tom Minshew regarding JUSHD’s open administrative positions.

Rumors of hiring within the district proved true as JUHSD welcomed Phil Morales as the new assistant principal. Considered a rising star in education by his peers, Morales, who has been with the district for several years, is currently the attendance supervisor at Terra Nova High School.

The new principal of Terra Nova will be Jonathan Ferrer, one of three assistant principals at Newark Memorial High School. 

Laurie Frater, JUHSD Board Member stated that Ferrer "impressed the heck out of everyone on the original screening group, the interviewing group, and then the departing and incoming superintendents, who were the final interviewers."

The position of associate superintendent is not yet confirmed but should be made public within the next few days.
