The boxing legend and Pacific Palisades resident thanks his neighborhood supporters Tuesday before being eliminated from the show.

Pacific Palisades resident Sugar Ray Leonard was upbeat Tuesday .
Leonard knew it was possible that he would be eliminated from the show, but he was still happy to be there, he said.
The boxing legend was sitting inside the makeup trailer alongside his vivacious partner Anna Trebunskaya, who adored being able to introduce the boxer to classical ballet, she said.

"Bernadette [Leonard's wife] and I were just bowled over by all the support we've been shown from the Pacific Palisades community, all our neighbors and friends,” said Leonard. “Today I was at Mick's in the Palisades with a friend and Mick even joined us for coffee. . . . There were signs posted in his restaurant to cheer me on; it was something."
The show continued with the same live music and 46-piece orchestra from Monday’s performance. Leonard danced the waltz with Trebunskaya earning a triple seven score from the judges.

Despite the fancy footwork and charisma, Leonard ended up in the bottom three along with Petra Nemcova and Chelsea Kane.
Always the champion, Leonard bowed out gracefully after he was voted off the show.
“I want to thank all of those who voted for me and kept me here; it's been a wonderful experience,” he told Patch.
Succeeding The Love Boat actor Gavin MacLeod, the boxing legend will take on the title of honorary mayor of Pacific Palisades in June.
The two top finishers on the show were Ralph Macchio of Karate Kid fame and Hines Ward, wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
