Organizers say the event was rated number one in the nation for three years running in Art Fair SourceBook.
LA QUINTA, CA - The 34th annual La Quinta Arts Festival kicked off Thursday, featuring the work of more than 200 artists displayed on the grounds of La Quinta Civic Center Park.
The four-day celebration continues the annual arts festival that organizers say was rated number one in the nation for three years running in Art Fair SourceBook.
This year's featured artist is contemporary mixed media painter Tres Taylor from Birmingham, Alabama, whose work has been featured both here and abroad.

In addition to 220 artists, the festival will also showcase live music entertainment and an exhibition by fine art body painter Lena Chromium, winner of GSNTV's "Skin Wars," with model and dance artist Khalia Frazier interpreting Chromium's painting through dance.
Proceeds from ticket sales will go toward the La Quinta Arts Foundation, which produces local art events and sponsors cultural and educational outreach programs such as the foundation's docent and Visual Art Scholarship programs.
