5-Vehicle Pileup Backs Up Traffic On I-10

INDIO, CA — A pileup that involved at least five vehicles on Interstate 10 near Indio jammed traffic Sunday.

The crash was reported at 1:10 p.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway east of Dillon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

It was not clear if anyone was injured, though a CHP incident report indicated that ambulances were dispatched to the scene.

Traffic was backed up to just east of Golf Center Parkway, the CHP reported.
