4. 76-year-old man stabbed and killed in Rancho Mirage; stepson arrested (mercedsunstar.com) — A 76-year-old man was fatally stabbed at a Rancho Mirage home, and his 36-year-old stepson from Joshua Tree was arrested on suspicion of murder and booked into county jail. Riverside County sheriff's deputies, whose local station serves Palm Desert and surrounding cities, responded to the late-night call and investigators have scheduled a court appearance for next week.
