Coachella Homicide Victim ID'd, Cops Seek More Information

Riverside County Sheriff's Department Coroner's Bureau released the name of the victim, found brutally slain in Coachella this week.

COACHELLA, CA — The Riverside Sheriff's Central Homicide investigators identified a 31-year-old Coachella man as a victim of a homicide this week.

Zachary Sandoval Roberts was identified as the victim found slain at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, authorities say.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information will be released.

"Deputies from the Thermal Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the 83000 block of Avenue 51, Tuesday in the city of Coachella, regarding a dead body," Sgt. Alberto Loureio said. "Upon arrival, responding deputies located a deceased male with trauma and obvious signs of death. Responding deputies secured the scene."

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation, according to Loureio.

"No arrests have been made at this time, the investigation is ongoing, and no further information will be released," he said.
