Coachella Valley Fire Crews Assist In NorCal: Photos Of The Week
We'd love to feature your photos on Patch!
COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — Arnold Suliguin captured some wonderful images of Coachella Valley fire crews in Northern California, who were on hand to assist crews battling the SCU Lightning Complex Fire, which as of Monday had burned 383,157 acres across several counties and was 60 percent contained.
Suliguin said he took the photos near the Alameda County Fairgrounds, which is the command post for the multi-agency response to the series of fires that, according to Cal Fire, has forced thousands of evacuations, destroyed 40 structures, damaged 18 structures and injured five people (firefighters and civilians).
"It was amazing to see community members show their support with cheers and signs during the 8 a.m. shift change," Suliguin said. "Crews as far Palm Springs, Cathedral City, and Camarillo were some of the trucks that passed by."
