Most Desert Trip Passes Sold Out Within Five Hours
General Admission passes were gone far quicker. However, some "premium tickets" can still be bought-- at a steep price.
INDIO, CA- As tens of thousands of fans from around the world virtually lined up online Monday to purchase tickets to see several rock and roll legends take the same stage, most passes sold out within a matter of hours.
"Desert Trip passes no longer available," was displayed on the event website by 3 p.m. PST. Tickets for two weekends of the show featuring the likes of The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, The Who and former Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters went on sale Monday at 10 a.m.
The second weekend wasn't even announced until about 20 minutes prior to tickets going on sale.
Goldenvoice did not disclose how many tickets total would be made available for either weekend, but Coachella and Stagecoach historically have had from 75,000 to 100,000 guests.
Single-day general admission passes were originally priced at $199 and three-day passes at $399, but those were mostly sold out quickly. Passes with shuttle service are $224 for a single day and $424 for three days.
Three-day standing pit, reserved floor and grandstand seating passes originally ranged from $699 to $1,599.
By Monday afternoon, several tickets were already posted for sale on third party websites, like EBay and StubHub. Some listings had the tickets for sale for several times the face value.
ViaGoGo was also selling tickets, touted as "official premium seating." Those started at $1,717 on Monday afternoon.
