The Historical Society of Palm Desert and the Desert Institute at Joshua Tree National Park joined forces and now offer the Old Firehouse Lecture Series out of the Portola Community Center. Today, Doug Walker, desert naturalist and professor emeritus of the College of the Desert, will speak on desert wildflowers.
