Free Fall Concerts Continue in Palm Desert with Americana String Band 'Moonsville Collective'

The sextet will perform this Thursday at 6 p.m.

The following is a news release from the city of Palm Desert:

Palm Desert’s free Fall Concerts in the Park continue on Thursday, October 16, at 6 p.m. with a live performance by Moonsville Collective.

A sextet featuring multi-instrumentalists and three part vocal harmonies, Moonsville Collective has invoked comparisons to folk legends Levon Helm (of The Band), Bob Dylan, and Old Crow Medicine Show. The band, with its mix of dobro, slide guitar, mandolin, tenor banjo, five-string banjo, resonator guitar, and fiddle, was named “2013 Best Country/Americana Band” by the OC Music Awards, “2012 Best Live Band” by OC Weekly and named “Best Bluegrass/Americana Band in Orange County” by CBS Los Angeles. The City of Palm Desert thanks Family YMCA of the Desert for its generous support of this performance.
