Free Fall Concerts Returning to Palm Desert Park

It's that time of year again!

A series of free outdoor concerts will begin next week in Palm Desert, a city spokesman said Wednesday.

The city’s weekly Fall Concert Series will start Oct. 2 with The Secret Jazz Band and vocalist Katie Harris. The band, which has appeared on television and in films including “Legally Blonde” and “What Lies Beneath”, specializes in classic jazz standards, according to city spokesman David Hermann.

-- Oct. 9: Zulluu, African fusion;

-- Oct. 16: Moonsville Collective, Americana and bluegrass;

-- Oct. 23: The Long Run, Eagles tribute band; and

-- Oct. 30, Blue Breeze Band, Motown and R&B.

All concerts start at 6 p.m. in Civic Center Park, 73510 Fred Waring Drive.

Concertgoers are urged to bring picnic dinners, blankets and lawn chairs. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase. Alcoholic drinks and smoking are banned.
