'Laverne & Shirley' Star Cindy Williams to Sign Book in Palm Desert

Cindy Williams, co-star of the 1970’s hit television show “Laverne & Shirley,” will visit Palm Desert today to sign copies of her new book.

In the memoir “Shirley, I Jest!” Williams recounts her life from her birth in Van Nuys, to her family’s move to Dallas, Texas, and her eventual return to California and Hollywood stardom.

Williams, 67, will be at Barnes & Noble in Westfield Palm Desert Mall, 72-840 Highway 111.

The event begins at 7 p.m.

Prior to starring as Shirley Feeney on “Laverne & Shirley,” Williams appeared on shows including “Love, American Style,” “Hawaii Five-O” and “Room 222.” She also appeared with Ron Howard in George Lucas’ early film “American Grafitti” and Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Conversation.”

Her other film credits include “Big Man on Campus,” “Bingo” and “Rude Awakening.”
