McCallum Showing 'Nutcracker,' 'Merri-Achi Christmas' This Week
The two holiday themed shows will be held on Wednesday and Saturday.
Coachella Valley residents and visitors who want a break from holiday shopping can catch two holiday-themed shows at the McCallum Theatre this week.
Moscow Classical Ballet will stage “The Nutcracker” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, and Mariachi Sol de Mexico de Jose Hernandez will perform a “Merri- Achi Christmas” concert at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Tickets are available for both shows.

The ballet was started in 1966 by the USSR Ministry of Culture to tour the Soviet Union and abroad performing Russian classical ballet.
Mariachi Sol de Mexico was created by Hernandez in the state of Jalisco, and in 2001 was the first mariachi group to be nominated for a Grammy. The group has collaborated or toured with the Beach Boys, Willie Nelson, Selena and Luis Miguel.
