A formal dedication of the artworks will be held at The Gardens on El Paseo.

PALM DESERT, CA – The public is invited to celebrate the arrival of new sculptures on the median of Palm Desert’s world famous shopping district as the City of Palm Desert marks the debut of the 2017/2018 El Paseo Exhibition on Saturday, January 7.

The day’s fun will begin at 9 a.m. at the northwest corner of El Paseo and Portola Avenue with a docent led tour of the Exhibition’s sculptures. At 10:30 a.m., a formal dedication of the artworks will be held at The Gardens on El Paseo. The ceremony will also introduce a new mobile app that will give art lovers convenient access to information about the Exhibition’s new artworks.

From 11 a.m. to noon, many of the artists who created the Exhibition’s 18 sculptures will visit their works and be available to answer questions and discuss them. Local arts organizations, including Coachella Valley Art Scene, Create Center of the Arts Palm Desert, and the S.C.R.A.P. Gallery, will have arts and crafts stations along El Paseo adding to the creative and stimulating atmosphere.
