Oakland Raiders Get a Palm Desert Broadcast Home

Raider broadcasts to replace San Diego Chargers football on KXPS.

Palm Desert-based Team1010 KXPS announced today that they have acquired the radio rights to broadcast Oakland Raiders football beginning this August.

“The Raiders are still and forever will be the Los Angeles areas favorite NFL team,” said Brian Jewett, Team 1010’s Program Director. “We’re excited to add them to out already power packed roster of play-by-play affiliates.”  Raiders football had previously aired on KPSI 920 AM.

Team 1010 had aired San Diego Chargers games for the past 4 seasons.   According to Jewett, as part of the recent sale of KXPS from Morris communications to CRC Media West, Morris kept the rights to the Chargers. Jewett also said the station felt the Raiders would be a good programming fit, while the Raiders were allured by the idea of moving to an all-sports formatted station.
