Palm Desert High Hosting 'Ultimate Alumni Weekend'

Over 250 alumni, current and former faculty will attend at least part of the three-day celebration.

In honor of Palm Desert High’s 25th anniversary, an all-alumni weekend is set for this coming weekend on the new campus. All alumni, alumni parents, faculty, former faculty, community leaders and friends of PDHS are being invited. 

Over 250 alumni, present and former faculty and alumni parents have signed up for the event, according to Jim de Boom, Executive Director of the Palm Desert High School Foundation. 

Activities include a Friday night gathering from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at The Hood, on Highway 111.  The Hood is owned by Palm Desert grads Colin and Pat Hoot.

Saturday includes tours of the brand new campus at 4:00 p.m. and food tasting from many local restaurants from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. 

The “Ultimate Pep Rally” begins at 6:00, with entertainment form the PDHS jazz band, cheerleaders and Flag Team.  Three outstanding alumni will also be recognized:  Grammy Award winner Joshua Homme (class of ’91), actress Alison Lohman (’97) and retired major league baseball player Chris Clapinski (’89).    Saturday night will wrap up at Costas Night Club at the Desert Springs Marriott.

A golf outing for alumni is planned for Sunday at Rancho Las Palmas Country Club.
