The zoo has expanded staff training and offers sensory bags, mobility aids, and assistive devices, reinforcing Greater Palm Springs' broader push to be a welcoming destination for neurodiverse guests.
   

• Wild new tech summons dream waves for surfers after spotting them in the lineup (timebulletin.us) — Palm Desert's upcoming DSRT Surf wave park is slated to open in late summer 2026, bringing North America's largest Wavegarden-powered surf lagoon and AI-personalized waves to local riders. New "Mixtape" technology will let beginners and experts surf together, with tailored waves, multi-angle video capture, and AI coaching enhancing the experience.
   

• Vigilante Caught Chopping Down Flock Safety Camera in Temecula (pulptastic.com) — A Palm Desert resident is facing serious charges after Riverside County deputies linked him to alleged threats and vandalism involving Flock Safety license plate reader cameras, part of a broader backlash against the surveillance system. In a separate Temecula case, another man was arrested after a camera was chopped down and recovered, prompting sheriff's officials to warn that tampering with the devices can bring felony consequences.
