Report Of Gun Prompts Lockdown At Palm Desert High School

A student reported seeing another student with a gun, but no weapon was found following a search of the campus.

A report of a student with a gun prompted officials to place on lockdown for about 30 minutes today.

But no weapon was found following a search of the campus, according to Cpl. Courtney Donowho of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

A student reported to school security that another student had a gun on campus about 11:15 a.m., Donowho said.

"They determined it's safe and there is no gun,'' she said.

The lockdown was lifted around 11:45 a.m., the corporal said.
