Police: Hand grenade found at Cooley Landing in East Palo Alto (paloaltoonline.com) โ East Palo Alto police have closed part of Cooley Landing after a suspected hand grenade was found and moved from the water to the shore Sunday afternoon. Around Town: Evolution of Cal Ave., Caltrain changes (paloaltoonline.com) โ California Avenue's car-free stretch is getting repaved and will soon feature new, standardized parklet designs that aim to make Palo Alto's "second downtown" more inviting for outdoor dining. Meanwhile, Caltrain has suspended service to the Stanford station for this football season, directing game-day riders to the fully equipped Palo Alto station a short walk away while it reevaluates future operations.
