PET OF THE WEEK: "Grace"

"Grace"

Grace is an 11-month-old pit bull who has been living at the shelter since October of 2012. She was found at Mitchell Park in Palo Alto... covered in demodectic mange. She was practically hairless.

(Mange/Demodex are the tiny mites that live on the skin. A dog is infected when his/her own immune system can't keep them at bay and the multiply. It occurs frequently in puppies, and Grace was only 6-7 months old when she was found.)

But after months of treatment by the staff here at the shelter, she is completely cured, and has grown back a great coat of fur! Grace needs a home with dog/breed experience (no young children.) She is very friendly, but also very energetic, and playful. Training classes are a must!
