Burglary Caught On Palo Alto Home Video: WATCH
Police hope the surveillance video generates leads to the trio's identities. The distinctive sweatshirts may help. [Breaking]

PALO ALTO, CA – Home surveillance video of a home burglary in-progress was released today by the Palo Alto Police Department.
Three suspects, believed to be males, apparently entered the residence on the 1700 block of Channing Drive on Wednesday at about 9:40 p.m., according to the video timestamp. The home was unoccupied overnight, and the resident returned the next evening, on Thursday, to find his rear glass door smashed and his house ransacked, police said.
The surveillance video shows the three suspects creeping into the home, crawling through the kitchen and family room, and going through the house with flashlights and pulling out drawers. Police said they stole a tablet computer, and left the house a few minutes later.

The three appear to be wearing gloves and light-colored sweatshirts with the hoods up, obscuring their faces. Two of the three suspects are wearing identical sweatshirts with a light-colored “B” printed over a black circle on the back. The race and age of the suspects is unknown, but they are believed to be male, police said.
Police said they are releasing the video in the hopes that it generate leads.

Police said the number of reported residential burglaries in Palo Alto has dropped each year since 2012, however, so far in 2016, there were 66 reported.
