Check Out Local Preschools & Child Cares at 'Preview Night'

Your best choice may not be around the corner from home, but close to your work. Parents from Palo Alto to Belmont are invited to attend Wednesday's event.

Choosing the right child care, preschool, or other early-development program is one of the most important and often difficult decisions a parent can make.

That's why, each year, a number of local resources and organizations team up to host "Preschool Preview Night" in Redwood City, to help give parents the information necessary to help them make the best decisions possible for their children.

The Redwood City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, the Redwood City Mother's Club, and Bay Area Parent Magazine are teaming up to host this year's Preschool Preview Night - a preschool, child care and parent resource fair that has become a key resource for local parents considering their child's early care and education, coming up on Wednesday, Jan. 16. This free, informative open house event will take place from 6-8 p.m. at the Community Activities Building at 1400 Roosevelt Ave.

Parents will also have the opportunity to take in a special presentation on "Choosing a Quality Preschool and Child Care," courtesy of the Child Care Coordinating Council, at 5:30 or 6:30 p.m..

Parents are invited to drop in to see displays and obtain information from a variety of early care and education programs in the mid-Peninsula region, between Belmont and Palo Alto. Representatives from these programs will be available to talk with parents about their organizations and to help determine which programs might be the best "fit" for their kids.

Parents' questions about family child care homes, state licensing, in-home care, quality indicators, accreditation and more can be answered, giving them the tools necessary to help them make informed and intelligent decisions about their child's care and educational development.
