PALO ALTO, CA – Police released images Tuesday of two people wanted for burglarizing a home in Palo Alto last month.

The theft happened Nov. 18 at a home in the 1000 block of Moreno Avenue, a few blocks away from Oregon Expressway, sometime between 8:20 a.m. and 12:20 p.m., police said.

Officers weren't notified until about 1 p.m. when the resident, a man in his 50s, reported the burglary after he returned home and saw signs of the break-in, according to police.

Investigators have retrieved footage from a surveillance system installed at the home that captured images of the suspects, a man and a woman, police said.

The pair was seen knocking on the front door to check if the home was occupied, then putting on gloves and heading to the backyard where they forced their way inside through a locked sliding door, according to police.

The suspects made multiple trips between the home and their car holding numerous items including jewelry, camera equipment, electronics and other property, police said.

A neighbor's surveillance system recorded the suspect car, a black mid-1990s four-door Honda Civic, as it left the scene, according to police.

The Police Department has recorded 88 home burglaries so far this year, a drop compared to 2012 when it recorded a high of 226 such thefts, police said.
