Coroner IDs Motorist Killed In Crash Off Hwy 101 Ramp
BRAKING: Three passengers were injured in the Sunday wreck near the Third Avenue off-ramp in San Mateo.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA – A 22-year-old man who died when the car he was driving crashed into a tree alongside U.S. Highway 101 in San Mateo early Sunday morning has been identified by the San Mateo County coroner's office as Jairo Lombera.
The crash was reported at about 2:10 a.m. near the Third Avenue off-ramp from northbound Highway 101, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers arrived and determined Lombera, a San Mateo resident, tried to exit at the off-ramp in a BMW coupe but lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into a tree off of the roadway, CHP officials said.

Lombera was pronounced dead at the scene while three passengers in the car were taken to a hospital. Two passengers, a 21-year-old and 22-year-old, suffered minor injuries while another 21-year-old suffered major
injuries, according to the CHP.
